MAGPIE: What Happens When You Follow the Wrong Bird?

So, apparently, I’ve decided I don’t have enough projects going on, because now I’m taking a story that’s been rattling around in my head for years and throwing it into The Sims 4. Because why write a book the normal way when you can make a bunch of digital people have existential crises instead?

Magpie is a story about a woman who’s trying very hard to live the life she’s supposed to want, right up until she meets someone who makes that increasingly difficult. There’s attraction, philosophy, questionable decisions, and the uncomfortable discovery that the life you’ve built might not be the life you actually want.

This is a trial run. A little experiment to see what happens when I translate a deeply personal story into the wonderfully absurd world of Sims storytelling. Will it work? Or will it go off the rails? Will I get distracted making a Sims 4 kitchen for six hours? All excellent possibilities.
